TFL® was founded in 2012 by lawyer and journalist Julie Zerbo. With a background in international business, economics, and law, Julie has practical experience working with brands ranging from early-stage design companies to publicly-traded retail groups and well-known luxury goods purveyors, giving her a dynamic understanding of the retail business and global consumer culture.

Julie’s extensive legal experience and authorship of both traditional legal and business scholarship, as well as her work with international think tanks in Washington, D.C. and on Capitol Hill, including at the U.S. House of Representatives Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property and the Internet, make her one of the paramount voices in legal journalism within the retail industry.
